Why doesn't America do what other countries do to keep out illegals: national ID cards?

I believe in America for Americans, small government, self reliance and an end to illegals. Now, other countries are able to keep illegals out b/c they use measures like national ID cards, microchips, surveillance cameras, secret police, internal pports, etc. Why aren't we doing this and protecting our nation? America is America and it needs to be kept that way. If we keep taking in illegals we will lose our American identiy and our freedom. We have to do something, and if that means national ID cards with biometric data or a DNA database or surveillance cameras, then that is what is to be done.America is a unique nation and we need to preserver our exceptionalism which is being undermined by illegal foreigners. I do not want us to end up as a failed third-world nation like Cuba or Iran or Europe or Viet Nam or any other one.
