Why is atheist my only option?

Actually I think that extremist views in atheism are already dominant. Most people define atheism as a disbelief in a god or higher power, however atheism was originally defined as a way of thinking where someone searches for the truth without accepting a belief based on faith alone. Many of today's atheists reject the possibility of a higher being entirely. These are extreme views. A true atheist is one who says little about the matter, waits and watches and will not make their decision about what is the truth. In fact they may never make that decision. So in a sense true atheism is about searching as you are.
