Opinions, please, on part of my book. Please give me what you think?

It sounds promising, however some of the dialog is a bit choppy, perhaps instead of saying "What is it exactly that they want?" say "And what, exactly, is it that they want?". my best advice would be to read it out loud and change whatever you stumble over or doesn't flow the way you want it to.
