Are Young-Earth Creationism, and Creationism in general, and ID primarily American phenomena?

Yes. Most other developed countries have no problem with whackos trying to get their religious beliefs about biology as part of the curriculum of public schools. These countries also have a much lower percentage of people who reject the fact of evolution.
